In terms of what I thought was the craziest at the time, I’d definitely say going to university in Nova Scotia. I had planned on going to UBC Vancouver for the past three years, and then I didn’t get in. I could have gone to UBC Okanagan and applied to transfer to UBC Vancouver in second year, or accepted the offer from the only other school I had applied to - Dalhousie. For some reason that I’m still not quite sure about, I decided that I wanted to go to Dal - a university I knew hardly anything about, in a city that I’d never been to, let alone the province, and a campus I had never seen. Now, I think it was the best choice for me, and I’m so happy that I made it. Thankfully it resulted in me making some great friends, getting involved in campus organizations in a way I might not have in a larger school, and meeting my amazing girlfriend. It was scary as hell at the time though!
